Fire It Up

This weekend I was finally able to somewhat catch-up on photos. Finally cleared out many photos that were behind, so now I can focus on photos from May.

Saturday I attended a barbeque birthday party for two friends, that was titled The Paul & Kurt Show BBQ of Love, and made my awesomely-delicious watermelon-chipotle BBQ wings, which I set on fire once I arrived to finish them off. I just added half a cup of Everclear to the wings and lit them on fire before I was ready to serve, to help caramelize the sauce onto the wings and help to form a nice saucey crust.

Now I can focus on knocking out photos for Geek Girl Productions' May 2012 show, "Victorian Vixens," before the upcoming weekend for the Steampunk World's Fair.

Oops! Been Forgetful!

Sorry I've been busy lately, so I haven't updated in a while, but now with the warmer weather approaching (theoretically), things are getting more active!

Did a shoot this past Saturday with one of my friends, Kaitlyn. Here's a shot in infrared with some tweaking in post:

Also covered the "Legends of Synthpop" tour at Rebel NYC for VampireFreaks on Sunday. Here's a pic of De/Vision from the show:

Here's a teaser pic from "Fairy Tales" by Geek Girl Productions:

In other news, "Knightmare6" is now officially trademarked! I also recently purchased a Tamron SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro lens, which I'm loving, but it started malfunctioning after a few hundred photos, but luckily I got a replacement in time for "Fairy Tales." So here's the hoping the replacement lens is free of any issues.

Geek Girl University & Triton Festival

Lots of photos to be taken this week, starting off with Geek Girl University. Nothing like a school-themed burlesque show to kick off the week!

This weekend is the three-day Triton Festival (from VampireFreaks) in Brooklyn (Brighton Beach), followed literally right afterwards by the 2nd Annual The Bank Reunion in Manhattan! There's also a pre-party for Triton Festival in Manhattan, so I'll probably make it to that too, since I scheduled myself to be off on Friday.

Geek!

Tonight I attended Geek Girl Productions' video game cosplay burlesque event, Players, at Public Assembly in Brooklyn.

It was fun, got to meet some of the performers, some of whom I've been trying to keep in contact with to do some shoots later this month at AnimeNext.

Tonight was the first time I used my Canon 5D Mark II! Figured it was time to break this baby in, after sitting on it for months. All was well, except I ran out the door and grabbed the wrong camera lens! D'oh!!!

Still got some good photos though :)
